PROJECTS 2005:
Conference calls on 3/2 and 5/5: wristbands and brochure
Wristband : Finalized the wristband giveaway. Order placed for
1000 ; colors are blue and gold, debossed with “ I’m going to
college ” and our website, nysfaaa.org . Will give out at the August
State Fair and other functions. Costs submitted in the current
fiscal year budget.

Brochure:
Updating the “It’s Sooner Than You Think” brochure. Second draft
currently being reviewed by committee. Cost will be submitted for
the next fiscal year. Anticipate printing of brochure in July or
early August.

Distribution: State Fair and School Districts
Contacted the 16 Regional Directors of the PTA via letter or e-mail
the week of 4/18 soliciting their assistance in distributing
brochures at functions. No responses yet. This may be due to the
timing of the year. I will follow-up with the State President of the
association for interest in project.
Tentative back-up plan: contact school districts directly for their
participation.

NASFAA entry: As was suggested at the last Executive Council
meeting, the ‘Bookmark Project’ was submitted on 2/10 for
consideration for the 2005 NASFAA State Award. Accompanying the
submission were the project materials - copy of the bookmark, print
out of our Early Awareness web page, sample letter to the libraries,
and some responses from the libraries.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Pawlak, Chair
