Region III
Report to Executive Council
September 22-23 2005
New York City

1. First Regional meeting for Fall will be at the Turning Stone on
September 30th. Future conference site. Meeting schedules and
training topics will be discussed as well as the presentation of
the Robin P. Jaycox regional service award. We have a “new”
Program committee that has been busy at work this summer, we are
all anxious to see their outcome for training programs.
2. Our Support Staff workshop has been scheduled for October 26,
2005 at the Craftsman Inn in Fayetteville. The first session will
focus on “Change”-change in staff, change in technology, and change
in regulation. The second session will introduce the Meyer-Briggs
Indicator concept, which helps people understand their own
personalities and how to interact with co-workers. Registration
forms were emailed out and a response is due by October 10th.
There is a $10.00 registration fee required. Normally this event
has a good turn out.
3. We are taking advantage of the two fee waivers available to
regions for the conference. We have submitted names for the mentor
regional conference waiver and the professional development
conference waiver. Timothy O’Donnell from Syracuse University Law
School will receive the Mentor regional conference waiver. Rose
Hartson from Pratt at Munson Williams Proctor Institute in Utica
will receive the Professional Development conference waiver.
4. State Fair report will be covered in separate meeting agenda.
5. Our Guidance Counselor workshop is scheduled for November 18th
in Syracuse.
