Notes/Report:
DATE: September 30, 2005 - Executive Council report to Region 3 meeting

NYSFAAA
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT TO REGION 3
SEPTEMBER 22-23
NEW YORK CITY

1. We now have iLinc Web and Audio Conferencing capabilities at the
regional level. The Executive Council Representative for the region
will have the necessary log on information. NYSFAAA will be
covering the cost for this service. Please contact Sharon Karwowski
at 607-844-8222 ext. 4454 or karwows@sunytccc.edu if you would
like to use any of their services for your regional business. If
you would like to look at a tutorial please visit:
http://www.ilinc.com/ondemand then click help.

2. Starting in the 06/07 CUNY will no longer be processing TAP
awards as they have in the past. It was explained that with the new
and advanced technologies it is no longer necessary for them to
process uniquely.

3. We did not have a CAAN representative for Region 3 by the time
they had to go to print for the state wide maps. Therefore, I put
my name down as the contact person.

4. It was strongly recommended by the VP for Membership that we
take advantage of the events manager on the NYSFAAA website.

5. Next year’s conference in New York City will have Sunday and
Monday nights on your own to allow people to take advantage of
being in the City.

6. The Lake Placid conference would like to know if we are
interested in Buses to the area. Several Region 3 people at the
table said yes. ..What say you?

7. There has been a request for the regions to bring to Executive
Council any training topics they are interested in seeing on a
state wide venue. Possibly larger or more costly training that
would best suit 3 to 4 sites in the state.

8. There will be a short Executive Council meeting at October
conference. The next larger meeting is December 8th and 9th

9. I gave a regional and State Fair report to Executive Council.
The Council would like to see the State Fair event opened up for
all members to have a chance to participate. There was some talk of
getting a van from downstate NYSFAAA members to come to Syracuse
for Higher Education Day. There will be a planning meeting November
18th at 1:00 p.m. in the Wiles room on the State Fair grounds. If
any schools would like to find out more about the day and help plan
next years event please tell them to attend. They can contact me if
they have any questions.

10. Next year’s Novice training will be held at Cobleskill.
NYSFAAA will be renting a storage place to contain necessary
supplies.
