Region VII Report to Executive Council

June Meeting

 

 

 

Overall, it has been a very productive year for Region VII members.  Attendance has consistently been up at the regional meetings and the two NYSFAAA professional development training sessions –The Tax Workshop and the Intermediate Training were very successful and well received by the membership.

 

The Intermediate Training was held on May 12th   at Fordham, Lincoln Center with Regions VI and VII colleagues forming the committee which organized the event.  They should be congratulated this full day of training was packed with valuable information and helpful guidance as we attempt to interpret the new HERA guidelines.

 

There were about 80 participants registered for the workshop; the presenters, Sandy Santana from UED, Jim Vallee from M&T Bank, John Austin from HESC, and Steve Malin from the Federal Reserve Bank shared their individual expertise with the attendees.

 

The regional membership looks forward to having more training opportunities as we begin to plan for next year’s activities.

 

A summer meeting is currently being planned and I will be able to report on it at the next Executive Council meeting.
