The
meeting began with distribution of the minutes from December 2005.
2.
Suzanne
Davis provided the treasurer’s report, including a balance update, financial
statements for circulation, and notification of $500 in January revenue sharing.
3.
Carolyn
Corcoran provided the Executive Council update on behalf of Susan Aldrich. NYSFAAA dues are way up. Revenue sharing is up among regions 3, 6 and
8. In addition, credit card payment
options for dues and conference charges will be on the NYSFAAA website
soon. Although Visa and Mastercard are the only proposed means for this medium of
payment, 12 American Express card holders showed interest in the addition of
AMEX at this meeting. Another item

membership policy distributed and briefly discussed.

Conference
registration briefly discussed. 2006 fee
is $250 with late registration fees and late payment fees of $50. Payment will be considered late if made later
than one week before the conference begin date.

There
is a Government Relations committee meeting on May 19th. Contact Jim Vallee
for further information.

Bonnie
Evans provided a HESC update. 0405 TAP is
closed out. Information provided
regarding APTS, the new HESC PIN, the Training Grant, etc. Contact Bonnie for a copy of the handout.

Holly
Zaglaniczny from EDamerica
spoke about College Aid Awareness Nights.
Details provided on dates, times, locations and number of attendees.

Katrina
Delgrosso provided the membership update.
Region VIII consists of 103 members, an estimated %35 to %40 of these
members are school employed.

Because
EASFAA will be held May 7-10 and the Federal Relations committee will be
gathering on the 18th and 19th, the next region VIII meeting is proposed for
April instead of May. Tentative plans
