Dear NYSFAAA Members, Prospects, and Visitors.
We are pleased to announce the newest feature of the NYSFAAA Website. The NYSFAAA Community Forum (NCF). Here, people can exchange thoughts and ideas on any appropriate subject.
SOME DETAILS
Your membership (in some cases membership not required) now includes access to our exclusive Community Forum. This new member benefit allows you to create topics to discuss the latest industry and membership news. Post messages, documents, and subscribe to the topics that interest you the most! Ready, set, engage!
• Post topics to the community forum to discuss with your peers.
• Browse previous discussions to catch up on recent happenings.
• Ask your peers questions that are most important to you.
• Subscribe to topics of choice to receive updates by email.
• Add topics that interest you the most to your Favorites for easy access later.
To get started:
1. Log in to the member section of the website.
2. Navigate to the Community Forum in the member section.
3. Post a topic you want to discuss.
4. Respond to previous posts.
5. Share attachments when creating new posts.
6. Subscribe to topics of interest.
7. Favorite topics you want to read later.
For our initial announcement, we have created three main forums:
1. Discussion Forum - where users can start a topic regarding any Financial Aid matter. Each new topic would create a sub-level of conversation within the forum
2. Annual Conference - This forum is intended for the Conference Chairs to speak to the community and for the community to share thoughts with the Chairs.
3. Member Benefits - This forum is available so that members, Prospects, and the Outside Community can learn about current Member Benefits as well as request/comment on future benefit needs.

SOME ADDITIONAL DETAILS
[*] Replying to the topic would add a new response to the topic list. Replies can include file attachments, which are perfect for meeting minutes, conference notes, etc.
[*]Subscribing to a topic means that anytime a user replies to a specific post, anyone who has clicked "Subscribe" will receive an email with a link to the forum post. Users can view a list of My Subscribes, where they can quickly unsubscribe from any topics no longer relevant to them.
[*]Favoriting a topic will add the topic to a user’s My Favorites list. This list is available anytime under My Posts and can act as a running list of topics a user is interested in revisiting later. Unlike "Subscribe," users won’t receive emails when they favorite a topic, so this is a less intrusive way of staying up to date on topics relevant to you.
