Novice price: $600 – includes $70 NYSFAAA membership fee and Novice fee of $530.

Arrival and Transportation

Site registration is open Monday, June 3 from 8:00 – 12:00 PM. The Novice Training Workshop kicks off at 12:00 PM. New York State attendees are expected to be on site by 12:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2024. Out of state attendees are expected to be on site by 4:00 PM. Participants who plan to arrive on Sunday afternoon should notify the co-chairs at [email protected] to receive early arrival instructions. There is an additional $50 room charge for Sunday arrival. 

If you plan to travel by air, Rochester and Syracuse airports are close to the Keuka College Campus. If you plan to fly, please email your flight itinerary to [email protected] so that arrangements can be made to pick you up at the airport.

Packing List & Required Tools

Below is a list of items you should bring with you:

  • Laptop or electronic device*
  • Toiletries – soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion, shampoo, shower cap, etc.
  • Sneakers and sweater/hoodie for evening outside group activities
  • T-shirt with your school/organization’s logo for Spirit Day
  • Casual clothing appropriate for professional training (shorts, sandals, light sweater/hoodie for air-conditioned rooms)
  • Business casual attire for the banquet at the end of the week

*Required Learning Tools
All training materials will be online. Attendees must bring a laptop or electronic device other than a cell phone that can access the internet. Expect to engage in online activities at studentaid.gov and FSA partners. The online 2024-2025 Federal Student Aid Handbook will be the primary resource for presentations, training topics, and learning activities. You may download a pdf of the FSA Handbook to your electronic device at this link: https://fsapartners.ed.gov/knowledge-center/fsa-handbook/pdf/2024-2025. The online resource for all presentations and handouts will be emailed to paid registrants on May 28th .


Lodging

Novice attendees will be residing in suite style housing that features double rooms and a shared bathroom. Each attendee will have their own bedroom and share a bathroom with 1-2 other professionals in the suite. Linens, one pillow, a light blanket, 2 towels, and 2 washcloths will be provided. Bathrooms have a shower curtain, paper towel, toilet paper, and hand soap.

Meals

Meals are included in your registration fee. Breakfast will be available Tuesday -Friday; lunch, Monday through Friday; and dinner Monday through Thursday. Be sure to list any food allergies and meal preferences (vegan, vegetarian, etc.) on your registration form. Lite snacks are provided during evening activities.
